Collections are GO!

Well, Happy New Year to you all.  Christmas, tick. New Year, tick.  What next I hear you cry?  Here at Sweet Notions we're gearing up for a year of activity.  More details will pour forth as we know more.  For now we're thinking COLLECTION DRIVES.  They are the backbone of what we do.  We need your gear - all those accessories that perhaps granny gave you for Christmas and that will never see the light of day.  Sometimes there will just never be the right occasion for that gold 'look', 'crystal' encrusted amber dollar sign necklace.  

If you do happen to come across some items kicking around your house that sit on the 'reject' pile of the January spring clean then, please, give them to us.  We'll make them look fabulous and it will be going to a great cause - no longer does your home need to offer valuable space to ugly items. Be gone.  Afterall, William Morris himself said 'Things in one's home should fit one of two criteria - to be practical or beautiful.  There is no need for the rest'.

Take Allyson in America for example.  She gathered quite a crowd together to collect such morsels.  Enticed by freebies and food her friends came, bringing accessories to donate.  All who brought items for SN also received pyjamas, cupcakes and sunglasses.  What a combination, don't you just love Texas?

So, how about it?

Get some friends together.  Do food. Food is good. Or they can bring a dish each. Yes.  And they can take it home (no washing up for you). Ask them to bring accessories.  You could try and gather some form of prize or 'favour' for donors.  Just add a quick dusting of wine....and voila.  A good night with friends and accessories gathered for a worthy cause.  You all go home feeling a little bit tipsy and rather pleased with yourselves.  Beats Britain/America's got Talent no?
