Who We Are

Who we areSweet Notions aims to make more than just a profit.  We Up-Cycle ladies fashion accessories and create social change.  Sweet Notions is an initiative of Matyroshka Haus.

 

We achieve transformation through three avenues:

  • Bag Up Your Bling – Is a collection drive initiative, where individuals and companies across the US and UK donate to Sweet Notions their unwanted accessories instead of throwing them away.  These provide the resources for the main body of our work
  • Sweet Notions Design Camps – teach disenfranchised women new skills through craft-design workshops that repurpose and recycle.  These are held both in the US and UK
  • Sweet Notions Boutique Events – portable shopping events that sell items which have been donated at collection drives or created through the Design Camps.

Upcycling is the practice of taking something that is being disposed of and transforming it into something of greater use and value.

We are excited about investing the proceeds into socially and environmentally beneficial projects like our Design Camps.
